Archibald "Archie" Higginbottom is a trainee driver under Mr. Perkins' tutelage. He is played by actor Gareth Cassidy. 

Personality

Archie is mischievous and rather silly, which can sometimes make Mr. Perkins cross. However, Archie is very good at knowing which engine is best for which tracks on the island and that gives Mr. Perkins the confidence that, one day, Archie will be one of Sir Topham Hatt’s greatest drivers.
