Chilly Diesel is a magazine story.
Plot
The engines have to share a shed with "Devious" Diesel, who teases them for having fireboxes and running on steam. In the morning, Diesel cannot start, and his diesel oil has turned to sludge and ruined his engine. He feels very cold. Thomas offers to help, and Diesel's driver uses Thomas' water to wash out Diesel's engine. Thomas jokes about Diesel about being "steam-cleaned", and even Diesel admits steam engines have their uses.
