Trivia
- Elsie was created by the Rev. W. Awdry, but was not featured in any direct stories of The Railway Series; however, a model of her was part of Awdry's Ffarquhar Branch layout. Elsie was mentioned in The Island of Sodor: Its People, History and Railways and also appeared in The Railway Series: Surprise Packet.
- Elsie was named after the Elsenham and Thaxted Light Railway, to which the real No. 9 was transferred from the Wisbech and Upwell in 1926.
- Although she does not appear in Thomas & Friends, she was mentioned in a January 2011 magazine fact file about Toby.[1]
