Flying Thomas is a magazine story.

Plot

Thomas realises he cannot go as fast as usual, so Sir Topham Hatt assigns him to go to the Works for a checkup. Thomas wonders what 'flying' meant, which was Harold the Helicopter 'flying' up high. His driver then explains to Thomas that 'flying' means to travel very quickly, so Thomas, feeling hot and bothered with all his steam hissing out, sets off to the Works. Soon, men come to examine Thomas for a checkup. Then, they come to see Harold who clearly saw Thomas in the air, when it was actually a crane lifting him. Thomas smiles.
