Percy Is Pushing is a magazine story.
Plot
One day, Percy is shunting a train for Duck in the harbour. Because the train is so heavy, Percy decides to split the train in half and make two trips to bring it to Duck. The first trip goes smoothly but the trucks in the second trip keep bumping Percy around.
Once everything is together, Duck sets off. He is surprised to find the train is heavier than expected. Later, the stationmaster informs Percy that Duck needs help up Gordon's Hill. Percy is reluctant to do so as he has his own work to do but he agrees anyway.
Percy arrives at Gordon's Hill and begins to push Duck and his train up the hill. It is very hard work but Percy succeeds and his driver is proud of him. On his return journey, Percy sees Edward stopped with two coaches. He thinks Edward might also need a push and begins doing so but Edward calls out for him to stop. Edward ends up bumping very hard into the back of Gordon. The Fat Controller is displeased with Percy but Percy admits he was only trying to help.
