The Colourful Engine is a magazine story.

Plot

Skarloey and Rheneas love the variety of colours they can see in the beautiful landscape during Summer. But one day, the fog blocks the scenery. Peter Sam is taking paint to the stations, but he breaks down and gets covered in paint when Skarloey bumps into him. Skarloey helps Peter Sam back to the Yard, but Rheneas teases him for being a "colourful engine".
