The Main Line Local, more commonly known as simply The Local, is a stopping passenger service along the Main Line.
The Local was first introduced in the 1991 magazine story Percy and the Local, in which it was stated that Percy enjoys pulling it and that Annie and Clarabel are used for it when they are not busy with Thomas.
The Local later made its television series debut in the seventeenth series episode Gordon Runs Dry, in which Sir Topham Hatt instructed Thomas to run the service.
