Tidmouth Town Square is where the Town Hall of Tidmouth is situated. The Town Hall also has a library on site. The North Western Railway has a station here located on Duck's Branch Line with two platforms and a footbridge. There are also several shops nearby.

History

Tidmouth Town Square has often served as a space for special events, such as performances by Allicia Botti and the children's snowman party.^[1] The Great Composer also once held a special concert outside the town hall here.^[2] The Tidmouth Market takes place here and is set up along the station platforms.^[3]

During Christmas time, a Christmas tree stands outside the town hall. A temporary ice skating rink was once also set up nearby the station.^[4]

After the skeleton of a Megalosaurus was discovered at the Sodor China Clay Pits, it was dug up by Marion and placed on a pedestal in front of the town hall, where it has since remained.^[5] A special ceremony for its unveiling was held by Sir Topham Hatt and Sir Robert Norramby.^[6] The skeleton was once temporarily removed for the unveiling of a sand sculpture of the Steam Team in the town square, though was later returned to its original position.^[7]

• A map of Sodor at the Explore the Rails exhibition places the Town Hall at the north end of Knapford rather than at Tidmouth, contrary to its later depictions.
• Tidmouth Town Square has had modifications throughout the CGI era. These include:
  • Series 16:
    • Overgrown vines are added on the side of the town hall building.
  • Series 17:
    • The overgrown vines on the side of the town hall building are removed.
  • Tale of the Brave:
    • The Megalosaurus skeleton is added on a pedestal outside the town hall.
    • The trees in front of the town hall are removed, though the rings from around the trunks are still present.
    • The shrubs growing between the pavement and the second platform are replaced by trees.
  • Series 24:
    • The rings where the original trees in front of the town hall were are removed.
